This bundle includes content notes and an attached task on "External Shocks" and the impact they have upon Demand and Supply. This is suitable for AS level and an able GCSE group.
The "External Shock" being investigated is the recent terrorist action in Brussels, Belgium. The case study looks at how this external shock would impact the demand for Eurostar services in and out of the capital city.
An introductory lesson to Motivation and the Hierarchy of needs.
Works best as a 3 student group task, but can also be completed independently.
Students have an A3 sheet to work from, and four "Rounds" where the scenario or story line changes, asking them to consider how they would motivate their band of survivors. Each of these stages reflect a tier of Maslow's Hierarchy of needs.
Optional extra: If you choose to complete this activity in teams, you can turn this into a "Survival of the Fittest" style competition where teams are rewarded for good teamwork and punished for negativity, poor work ethic and poor team working skills. The "Zombie-Cards" file has premade cards that can be used for this purpose.
This worksheet looks at the "Product" element of the Marketing Mix and focuses on Product Failures, Product Design and the Product Life-cycle, using a McDonald's theme.
This lesson works best if students have access to the internet (via a laptop or even a mobile device) as there is a research element involved about product failures. If students do not have internet access, this could be completed as a homework activity.
In this pack are three worksheets which cover the "Price" element of the Marketing Mix.
Elements covered by these worksheets include; Demand, Price Skimming, Price Penetration, Cost-Plus Pricing, Competitive Pricing and Loss Leader pricing.
Each of these sheets also feature a number activities which require research and/or written answers.
Included in this pack are two accounting/finance booklets.
The booklets are the same in essence, however the "Lower Ability" file has been simplified slightly to accommodate those students who struggle with finance.
The booklets cover:
Sales, costs and profit calculations.
Trading and profit and loss accounts.
Balance sheets (Statement of financial position).
Performance ration analysis (and calculations).
Liquidity ratio analysis (and calculations).
In this package is the financial statements of Apple Inc and a worksheet requiring students to calculate financial ratios. Financial ratios included are gross profit margin, net profit margin, return on capital employed, current ratio (quick ratio) and acid-test ratio.
This pack includes a presentation and A3 lesson sheet on the content area of "Protecting staff through legislation". This was initially created for the AQA specification, but may be appropriate for all UK based GCSE courses.
Included in this pack is an A3 sheet which covers all content (key definitions), learning activities and exemplar exam questions on Organisation Structure. Also included is a self-evaluation sheet that would be suitable for a recap style activity or as a homework task.
